Othello, a celebrated Moorish general in the Venetian army, secretly marries Desdemona, a Venetian noblewoman. Their marriage becomes the target of Iago, who secretly resents Othello and plots to bring about his downfall. Through carefully constructed lies and manipulation, Iago makes Othello believe that Desdemona has been unfaithful. Othelloβs growing jealousy causes him to lose trust in his wife and those around him. As the deception deepens, the characters become trapped in a chain of betrayal and tragic decisions. The play ultimately examines jealousy, prejudice, trust, manipulation, and the devastating consequences of unchecked suspicion.
